Northwest Rural Health Conference Highlights
Becky Betts attended the Northwest Rural Health Conference in Spokane. The annual event is a collaboration of the Washington State Department of Health State Office of Rural Health, the Washington Rural Health Association, and the Rural Health Clinic Association of Washington.
The conference brought rural healthcare professionals and subject matter experts together to network, educate, and brainstorm innovative ways to advance rural health.
Becky's conference highlights were learning about new Community Paramedicine trends, novel Workforce Development approaches, and tips for Centering Community Voice. These takeaways are vital as we build a South-Central Regional Community Hub.
Seeing Martha Lanman receive the Community Star for Washington State was terrific. The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health awards one individual in each state whose determination and dedication created meaningful change for the health and well-being of their rural community. Martha is the Executive Director of the Southeast Washington Alliance for Health (SEWAAH), a coalition working to improve people's health in Asotin, Columbia, and Garfield Counties. In addition to directing SEWAAH, she serves as the Health Administrator for Garfield County and is a board member for Greater Health Now. Congratulations, Martha!
Becky is already looking forward to next year’s Northwest Rural Health Conference. We hope to see you there.
