Check out this Greater Health Now sponsored event!

As educators, most of us feel a sense of mission to serve. By choosing this path, we become increasingly aware of both the joys and challenges involved in our work. Some of these challenges emerge from the flawed macro and micro systems in which we work, and others come from our constant struggle to care for ourselves while caring for our students. Both can lead to isolation, resentment, and burnout. The only way we can be there for our students is if we are there for ourselves. In this presentation we will explore some of the methods of self-care that can not only help us, but also transform the culture in which we work.

This is a conference to support school staff. The goal is to equip teachers & staff to prevent burnout, provide coping skills, and find joy.

As we prepare to wrap up our summer and get ready to return to school, stress can start creeping up and overwhelming us as we still live through the pandemic. Learning how to Practice the Pause can help build emotional resilience.

Join us for a free 30-minute virtual community workshop to learn how to apply Practice the Pause techniques to your everyday life. Great for all ages.

Let's connect to share helpful tips and coping mechanisms as we prepare to return to school and support the emotional development of children and families.

There will be another opportunity to attend on Thursday, August 25th 2022 at 12pm.

Please contact Brissa Perez (bperez@greaterhealthnow.org) if you have any questions.

Community Linkage

Did you know that studies show only 10 to 20 percent of a person's health is related to medical care? That's right! The rest is attributed to non-medical, social determinant factors including economic stability, education, housing, food security, transportation, and more. Because of this, Greater Health Now (GHN) partners with seven Local Health Improvement Networks (LHINs) that support initiatives delivering on these needs across the Greater Columbia region.

Each LHIN is a formalized group of individuals who coordinate and collaborate on activities to address the health issues and disparities in their respective communities. Once the most critical social determinant of health needs are determined for their area, GHN provides funding support that enables philanthropy organizations to align services that will address those areas of need.

We have invited the LHINs and philanthropy organizations to share the amazing work that has transpired over the past year as a result of this partnership. Please join us!
